The Thinking Shed
Remote ethnographic research
The Thinking Shed is a brilliantly simple app
designed for getting researchers in the moment
of consumer behaviours and choices
We wanted all participants to feel comfortable and confident using it...
- So we made the Thinking Shed app easy and simple to use
We wanted researchers to focus on their projects rather than worrying about the app...
- So we made a simple interface that is easy to set up and manage
And.. we wanted researchers to capture the moments in time they don't normally see
- So we focused the app on collecting video and images so outputs bring your findings to life
We offer three options:
The Thinking Shed is a brilliantly simple app

of consumer behaviours and choices
Clean Interface
Create a simple introduction page to your project, outlining an overview of what you are looking for participants to do.
Being upfront and clear about the type of tasks and commitment expected appeals to all participants, and your results will roll in.
Tasks are then formatted around a simple Q&A style
where participants add text, photos or video as answers
You can choose to receive notifications every time you receive a response, or get a summary at the end of the day.
As responses come in you can probe and ask further questions, within the app.

Allocate your tasks
Create as many tasks for your participants as you like, using a variety of formats:
-
They could be a daily diary style, with an option of written responses, or uploading photos/videos
-
Tasks can be revealed all at once and worked through / daily OR only revealed after the first task is complete. You choose how you want to manage it
...There is no place like phone
Respond to media
Provide participants with videos and pictures to respond to, and get them to comment on specific moments.
Share stimulus and feedback gathered from other participants to trigger further reactions
Show stimulus ranging from advertising to letter testing, and get in the moment opinions on your product testing.
